Priya Tambe is inspired by natural imagery to create work that is beautiful and timeless. Through art, she seeks to uncover the deepest emotions in people and their interaction with the natural environment.

Priya studied art in college and after a career in finance, returned to her passion, sculpture.  For the last ten years, she has combined paper sculpture and encaustic painting techniques, to create soft and ethereal textured compositions. Encaustic painting is an ancient Greek method that uses natural beeswaxes and damar resin.  The resin hardens the cooled wax and gives it a characteristic smooth, hard finish.

Priya's artwork has been exhibited in galleries and private collections in New York City, Westchester & Fairfield counties, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, and Austin. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Art Therapy degree at New York University and working with adolescents and children.
